What you do with your energy dictates the way you feel, the quality of your life and the relationships you have with others. Shiatsu literally means ‘pressure point’ in Japanese. By applying pressure to a point on one of the many channels of vital energy flowing through your body, the flow of energy is stimulated and stagnant energy is unblocked. It is rather like a blocked river, where there is too much water in one place, and less in another. The energy in the body operates on exactly the same principle; where the energy stagnates, the body becomes weak and painful, and the likelihood of dis-ease is increased.
These treatments can help to deepen your level of self-awareness, affording greater insight, and helping you to develop further. A private shiatsu treatment is 90 minutes, which includes 15 minutes at the beginning to discuss any dis-ease, and 15 minutes at the end of the treatment where I will give you advice and/or exercises according to what I feel you need at that moment. Those who follow the lessons may be eligible for private shiatsu treatments at a reduced price. SHIATSU is officially recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Health as an important method of healing.
